Stollen is a traditional German bread, usually served at Christmas time, when it was called Christollen. Made with a rich yeast dough using lots of butter, milk and eggs, it also has lemon zest, raisins, some candied fruit, and almond extract. Ours is drizzled with icing sugar, but others roll the fresh baked loaf in powdered sugar.
